Three Steps to marketing success
As a small business we understand that marketing yourself can be difficult. Marketing takes time, and in most cases we just don’t have the time to run a campaign the way it ought to be run… Marketing takes money, and in this economy advertising tends take a back seat for most small businesses. In these times it’s good to look at the basics, the tried and true elements of marketing and advertising. These few steps will help you get the most out of your marketing, and get the biggest bang for your buck!
Take these few tips from us, and apply them to your next marketing campaign.
Step 1 : Be Specific!
Don’t waste your money on marketing to people who will never be your customers, in other words don’t spend your time and money trying to sell ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves… shes not buying! Instead find out what your customer looks like, what they do, where they go, what they listen to. Conduct surveys on your current customers to find out what make them tick, then market your business to people who fit that profile.
Step 2 : Change it up
Don’t ride a dead horse, you won’t get very far! Try a new media outlet, try a new radio station or different newspaper, try some fresh content on your website, change things up a bit. You’ll find new customers aren’t that far away.
Step 3 : Tracking
Tracking is critical to any marketing effort. Provide an interactive form for your customers to give feedback on your website or place a code on the ad or set-up a unique 800 number. Watch to see what works and what doesn’t. Aim to do it better next time.
By following these three step you will find your marketing efforts to be more effective.
